IMPD investigating a single vehicle crash that killed the driver and seriously injured her passenger

INDIANAPOLIS – IMPD investigators are looking into the circumstances surrounding a crash that killed a driver and seriously injured her passenger.

user29491-1459417196-media1Around midnight Wednesday, officers were sent to the intersection of 26th St. and Sherman Drive on the report of a serious crash with entrapment. When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive female driver who was later pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS medicsl. A passenger, 22-year-old Devante Conner, was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in serious condition.

Preliminary investigations show the driver lost control of her vehicle and hit a utility pole in the 2500 block of North Sherman Drive and then struck a second utility pole in the 2600 block of Sherman Drive. Initial investigations do not show any obvious signs that alcohol was a contributing factor. However, the circumstances are still under investigation.
