DANVILLE, IN (March 5, 2026) –For the first time ever, visitor spending in Hendricks County exceeded $400 million, according to a recent study.
The new economic impact report by Rockport Analytics, an independent market research and consulting company, showed tourism is thriving at every level, including 9 percent growth in Hendricks County compared to the previous year, which far exceeded the state average of 4.7 percent.
“This growth not only underscores our destination’s appeal but strengthens our local economy, benefiting businesses and enhancing the quality of life for residents,” said Jaime Bohler Smith, Visit Hendricks County’s Executive Director/CEO. “We are thrilled that visitors are discovering authentic experiences that can only be found here.”
Travel generated $404 million in visitor spending, up from $370 million the previous year. That rise added $228 million in new net value to the Hendricks County economy, according to Rockport Analytics, which used 2024 data, the most recent year complete data was available.
Tourism also supported 4,945 local jobs, making it the ninth largest industry in Hendricks County, excluding government. More than 4 percent of local jobs were supported by visitors, with 3,898 people directly employed in a tourism-related profession.
