Indiana Main Street, part of the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, supports community-led economic and historic revitalization across the state by guiding local organizations through a structured program based on the Main Street Four Point Approach—organization, promotion, design, and economic vitality—helping towns strengthen downtown districts, nurture local businesses, and foster vibrant community life.

The Aspiring-IAMS designation identifies organizations that have demonstrated the commitment and capacity to build toward full Indiana Main Street Accreditation. This milestone reflects that the Downtown Danville Partnership and Main Street Plainfield have met baseline requirements and are actively working to implement the standards and practices essential for sustaining long-term downtown revitalization.

“This designation is a representation of the great work the Downtown Danville Partnership and our counterparts, Main Street Plainfield, have accomplished in supporting and strengthening each of our amazing downtown districts,” said Tara Cobourn, Community & Project Coordinator of the Downtown Danville Partnership. “As Hendricks County continues to grow, our work to strengthen our historic districts’ economic and cultural vitality is so crucial. Having both of our organizations earn this recognition is a representation of not only the hard work of our boards and volunteers but also the commitment of the Towns of Danville and Plainfield in supporting our work.”

“Achieving the Aspiring Indiana Accredited Main Street designation is an important milestone for both Main Street Plainfield and the Downtown Danville Partnership,” said DeeDee Leonard, President of Main Street Plainfield. “Collaboration across Main Street organizations is essential to building a strong foundation for sustainable downtown revitalization. We’re proud to stand alongside the Downtown Danville Partnership as we continue strengthening our communities and Hendricks County.”

The Aspiring-IAMS level offers access to Indiana Main Street training, technical assistance, and statewide networking opportunities—tools that will help the Downtown Danville Partnership and Main Street Plainfield refine strategies, secure resources, and accelerate progress toward full accreditation.
