STATEHOUSE (March 11, 2026) – Hendricks County native Kaylee Prewitt gained experience as an intern with State Rep. Craig Haggard (R-Mooresville) and his fellow members of the Indiana House of Representatives during the 2026 legislative session.
Prewitt, a Plainfield High School graduate, is the daughter of Amy and Kyle Prewitt. She is currently a senior at Indiana State University majoring in legal studies and minoring in nonprofit leadership, political science and human capital management.
“Interning at the Statehouse has been an eye-opening experience into the legislative process and bipartisan collaboration,” Prewitt said. “I feel more prepared for starting law school next fall and have gained real, hands-on work experience while networking with professionals from across the state.”
As a legislative intern, Prewitt corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails while also staffing committee hearings and floor proceedings.
“Kaylee consistently demonstrates reliability and a genuine commitment to public service,” Haggard said. “Our legislative interns are so important to ensuring each session runs smoothly.”
Each year, the Indiana House offers paid, full-time, spring semester internship opportunities to college students, recent graduates and students in graduate and law school during the legislative session.
