BROWNSBURG – The Town of Brownsburg will close the intersection of S. Green Street and County Road 300N next month for the construction of a $1.4 million roundabout.
Signs are in place to alert motorists that the road will be closed to traffic on or after May 4 for a period of 60 days. Utility relocation is underway. Project start and completion dates are dependent on weather and other factors.
The decision to completely close the intersection during construction will significantly shorten the length of what could otherwise be a five-month project. It also led to better bid pricing, saving approximately $350,000.
Other sections of S. Green are scheduled to be resurfaced this spring, but the CR 300N intersection will be resurfaced as part of the roundabout project.
Traffic will be detoured to the east along S. Northfield Drive, Hornaday Road, and Airport Road. The businesses on S. Green Street and CR350N will be accessible to local traffic.
