IMPD homicide detectives investigate the shooting death of a man inside his apartment

INDIANAPOLIS – Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide Branch are investigating the shooting death of a 60-year-old man inside his apartment.

Just before 11:00 p.m., IMPD officers were sent to the 3500 blk. of Evergreen Ave. reference a person shot. When officers arrived they found a 60-year-old male suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at  the scene by EMS personnel.The victim has been identified as 60-year-old Guy Hornaday of Indianapolis.

Detectives are following up on several leads and do not believe this was a random act of violence. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency has processed the crime scene looking for forensic evidence and the Marion County Coroner’s Office will perform an autopsy to determine a cause of death.
