INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Robbery detectives arrest two suspects accused of committing a robbery of the Kroger Pharmacy.
On Saturday at about 3:15 p.m., North District officers were sent to the 5800 blk. of East 71st St. reference a robbery in progress at the Kroger grocery store. Officers were provided a detailed suspect description from witnesses. Officers quickly arrived and observed the two suspects attempting to get into a vehicle parked in the parking lot. The suspects seeing the police attempted to run on foot for a short distance but were quickly taken into custody by pursuing officers without incident.
Detectives later learned that both suspects entered the grocery store and walked to the pharmacy counter a handed the pharmacist a note announcing an “armed robbery”. The note demanded an undisclosed amount of controlled narcotics to which the pharmacist complied. The suspects were given an unknown amount of demanded narcotics and then they fled the scene where they were eventually captured by responding officers.
The suspects have been identified as 18-year-old Brushawn Woodson, 18-year-old Anthony Davis both of Indianapolis. Because of the on-going nature of the investigation, no booking photos are available at this time. Both suspects were arrested and preliminarily charged with Robbery and transported to the Arrestee Processing Center for processing. In the coming days, the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make a charging decision.
