Motorcyclist Killed in Hit and Run Accident

INDIANAPOLIS– Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s (IMPD) Hit and Run investigators are seeking a dark blue 2000-2007 Mitsubishi Lantzer believed to have struck a motorcyclist on March 21, 2016.

The victim, 32-year-old Maurice Hamler, was driving his motorcycle in the 9400 block of East 38th Street. The victim was struck by a dark sedan driving eastbound on 38th Street. The victim was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition where he later died.

Based on evidence recovered at the crime scene, investigators believe the suspect vehicle will be a dark blue 2000-2007 Mitsubishi Lantzer with damage near the driver’s door.  After the crash, the driver of the suspect vehicle fled the scene without rendering first aid to the victim or notifying IMPD of the crash.
