IMPD detectives investigating a Criminal Homicide on the city’s East side

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) detectives are investigating the shooting death of a 33-year-old male.

IMPD officers responded to the 1900 Block of N DeQuincy Street, just after 3 a.m., on the report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located two males that had been shot. Both victims were transported to Eskenazi Hospital, where the 33-year-old male, later identified as Clifford Brown Jr, died from his injuries.  The 2nd victim, identified as 38-year-old Carl Stevenson of Fishers, was listed in good condition, suffering from a graze wound. IMPD detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and additional information.

There is no suspect information available at this time. Marion County-Indianapolis Forensic Services Agency responded to the scene to collect possible forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner will be assisting and determining the exact cause of death.  Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers of Indiana at (317)262-TIPS (8477).
