State Road 39 Bridge in Boone County over Sugar Creek will close July 8

BOONE COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a bridge replacement project will close State Road 39 over Sugar Creek in Mechanicsburg on or after Monday, July 8.  The roadway is scheduled to reopen in mid-November. 

The official detour follows S.R. 47 to U.S. 421 to S.R. 38 and back to S.R. 39.

This project was awarded to Force Construction Co. for $3.1 million. This project also included a bridge deck replacement on S.R.38 over Sugar Creek, a small structure replacement on S.R. 39 south of I-65 in Boone County and a bridge deck overlay project on both the eastbound and westbound U.S. 52 bridges over Goldsberry Creek, located just west of S.R.47 and have already been completed.
