Single Vehicle Crash Claims the Life of an Indianapolis Man

Indianapolis, IN –  State Police are investigating an overnight single vehicle crash that claimed the life of an Indianapolis man. 

Just after 2 o’clock Saturday morning dispatchers began receiving emergency calls of a serious crash on the ramp from I-74 eastbound to I-465 southbound on the city’s west side. Emergency crews were summoned to the scene an upon arrival located a 2011 Chevrolet pick-up with extensive damage. The driver was unconscious inside the vehicle. Despite life saving efforts by first responders the male was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Marion County Coroner was called to the scene and recovered the remains of the deceased. An autopsy will be performed in an effort to determine the exact cause of death.

Investigating officer, Trooper Jordan Hall said, “the driver was not wearing a seatbelt, he appeared to have been thrown around inside the vehicle and was found on the passenger side.” There were no other vehicles involved in the crash and the investigation is ongoing.

Notification of the death has been made to next of kin however the name of the driver is not being released at this time.
