One person dead after weekend crash near Brownsburg

One man is dead after a crash on SR 267 near Brownsburg over the weekend. Hendricks County Sherrif’s Deputies were dispatched to the 3400 block of SR 267 near Brownsburg Saturday morning around 7:45 a.m. on a report of a personal injury accident.

When deputies arrived, they discovered a crash between a Chrysler minivan and a semi-truck with trailer. The driver of the minivan was identified as David Shelton, 52, of Brownsburg. Authorities say that Shelton died at the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the minivan was left of the center line at the time of the collision for an unknown reason.  Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the collision. There were no other injuries reported.

SR 267 was closed for over three hours.
