More than $9 million in Indiana tax credits available ahead of Giving Tuesday and end-of-year charitable giving

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (November 26, 2019) – As Giving Tuesday approaches on December 3, $9.6 million in state tax credits remain in the Indiana Tax Credit Scholarship Program for 2019-2020. In order to receive a 2019 state tax credit equal to 50% of one’s gift, donations must be received by December 31, 2019.

“Giving Tuesday is a worldwide movement that encourages individuals to donate to local charities,” said CEO of the Institute for Quality Education Betsy Wiley. “You can’t get more local than helping students in your community access educational opportunities.”

Since 2010, the Institute for Quality Education has utilized the Indiana Tax Credit Scholarship Program to award over $45 million in scholarships and helped 30,000+ Hoosier students receive a quality education that they otherwise may not have received. The mission of the scholarship program is to eliminate financial barriers for low- and middle-income families to send their children to schools of their choice across Indiana.

State tax credits are available to individual donors and businesses alike, and apply equally regardless of filing status.
