ISDA Director commends Dow AgroSciencies on prestigious award

INDIANAPOLIS (June 15, 2016) – “Congratulations to Dow AgrosSciences on receiving their sixth, highly coveted U.S. EPA Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award for developing the product Instinct,” said Ted McKinney, ISDA Director. “This breakthrough technology works to make nitrogen fertilizers, which are necessary for crop health, work more effectively for farmers while preventing nutrients from entering our waterways. As our department continues work to conserve Indiana’s natural resources, I applaud companies, like Dow AgroSciences, for developing new, innovative technologies that aim to improve soil health and water quality statewide while at the same time providing benefits for farmers.”

According to U.S. EPA’s website, the Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Awards promote the environmental and economic benefits of developing and using novel green chemistry. These prestigious annual awards recognize chemical technologies that incorporate the principles of green chemistry into chemical design, manufacture and use. Throughout the 21 years of the awards program, EPA has presented awards to 109 winners.
