IMPD Investigating Death After Man is Shot Near 34th Street and Keystone Avenue

INDIANAPOLIS – IMPD detectives are investigating the death of a man who was shot near the area of 34th Street and Keystone Avenue.  The man was transported to Eskenazi Hospital where he died of his injuries.

The officers who responded to the area for the initial call obtained enough information from witnesses to have a description of a car that was possibly carrying someone involved in the shooting.  This description was provided to on-duty officers and a car matching the description was located near the area of 71st Street and Meridian Street.

A short pursuit ensued and the possible suspect crashed his car near the area of 52nd Street and Georgetown Road.  The possible suspect was taken into custody not far from the crashed car.  Detectives are now working to determine his possible involvement in the shooting near 34th Street and Keystone Avenue.
