IDOC Helps ISP with Storm Damage Clean up at Indianapolis Post

Indianapolis, IN – A line of strong thunderstorm moved through Indianapolis Sunday afternoon bringing down trees at the Indiana State Police Post near 21st Street and Post Road. Most of the damage was to the area surrounding the Fallen Officer’s Memorial behind the Post, which is property adjacent to I-70. Dozens of trees were damaged along with some state police vehicles and trailers.

Today our partners from the Indiana Department of Corrections stepped up in a big way, they provided equipment along with manpower to expedite the clean-up process. Offenders from the Pendleton Correctional Facility worked alongside members of the State Police Facilities Management Division and employees of the IDOC throughout the day to clean up the debris.
