INDIANAPOLIS (Aug. 15, 2019) – Hoosier Logistics Inc.
(Hoosier), a logistics and supply chain management provider, announced plans
today to grow its operations in Indiana through multiple expansions, scaling
its corporate office in Indianapolis and adding its first satellite office in
Fort Wayne, more than doubling its Indiana workforce by adding up to 45
new jobs over the next few years.
“As the Crossroads of America and state with the most pass-through highways, Indiana
is the prime location for logistics companies like Hoosier to flourish,” said
Elaine Bedel, president of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC).
“As a state, we won’t stop delivering on our commitment to cultivating a
pro-growth, business-friendly environment so job creators like Hoosier can
continue driving their business forward in all corners of our state.”
Hoosier will invest more than $1.65 million to expand its Indiana footprint
over the next five years. At its Indianapolis headquarters, the company will
consolidate the corporate functions for all of its subsidiaries, including
Midwest Transportation Solutions, an asset-based trucking company; and Midwest
Transportation Leasing, which provides leasing and financing opportunities for
operators to own their own equipment. Hoosier is currently in negotiations
for spaces in Fort Wayne and downtown Indianapolis to upgrade its office
locations and allow for future growth. The company’s first satellite
office in Fort Wayne will be a full-service facility offering all of Hoosier’s
transportation solutions with a focus on logistics operations. This new office
will enable access to additional customers and employees in the northeastern
part of the state, which is the 2nd largest metro area in Indiana.
“We would not have experienced this growth and
expansion without our rock star employees,” said Hoosier Logistics President
Nick Likens. “The 3PL logistics segment, and the transportation industry in
general, is a people-centered business and a relationship-intensive business.
We are grateful for our employees that understand our customer service model
and promote our Hoosier values. Constant technology changes are improving our
efficiencies and margins, but people and our culture still drive this
business.”
The company, which employs 34 associates, plans to
create up to 35 new jobs in Indianapolis and is currently hiring for positions
in carrier sales, account management and operations at its Indianapolis
location and plans to begin hiring for up to 10 new positions in Fort Wayne
later this fall. Interested applicants may apply online or through the
company’s job postings on LinkedIn.
“We are proud that Hoosier Logistics calls
Indianapolis home,” said Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett. “The robust pipeline
of talent in Indy’s logistics sector provides the opportunity for organizations
like Hoosier Logistics to grow and thrive. We congratulate them on today’s
announcement and look forward to more success in their future.”
Founded in 2015, Hoosier provides logistics
services from full-service warehousing to single expedited shipments,
temperature-controlled solutions for health care goods and food products to
flatbed for steel and construction materials, and many other modes for a
variety industries. From 2016 to 2018, Hoosier’s revenue growth totaled 630%,
which earned recognition as Indiana’s fastest-growing private company by the Indianapolis Business Journal. The company’s goal
is to be an industry-leading logistics and supply chain management provider and
give its customers, carriers and employees the opportunity to deliver solutions
through its cutting-edge technology.
“I’m honored to welcome Hoosier Logistics to our
community as Fort Wayne continues to experience positive business and job
growth,” said Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry. “By working collaboratively with the
private sector, we’re able to make a lasting and meaningful impact as a city
moving in the right direction. Hoosier Logistics is demonstrating a strong
belief in and dedication to Fort Wayne with their expansion plans.”
Hoosier continues to address future growth
expectations, executing its plans to create facilities across the state. In
addition to its Indianapolis and Fort Wayne expansions, Hoosier also announced
plans today to grow its footprint in Columbus, creating a new truck terminal
location. This expansion includes an estimated investment of $5 million to purchase
trucks, trailers and shop equipment.
“We welcome Hoosier’s investment in Columbus, Indiana, and we trust they will
enjoy our community’s supportive business climate, access to prospective
customers, and great roads and built infrastructure,” said Columbus Mayor Jim
Lienhoop.
The IEDC offered Hoosier Logistics Inc. up to $700,000 in conditional tax
credits based on the company’s job creation plans in Marion and Allen Counties.
These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the
