AVON- On 08/08/2021 Hendricks County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of a motor vehicle crash on Co Rd 200N, west of Co Rd 800E near Avon. At that location a single black Jeep had traveled off the roadway, partially ejecting the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle. The driver, who was later identified as Benjamin Melvin, 43, of Speedway, died at the scene. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office’s Crash Reconstruction Team.
