Centerville Man Struck While Outside his Car on I-65

Indianapolis, IN – A man is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle Monday evening. Around 6:45 p.m. emergency crews were called to the ramp from I-65 northbound to I-465 eastbound on the city’s south side for reports of a pedestrian struck. Upon arrival the found a man lying on the road critically injured.

Investigating officers believe the man, identified as 59 year old Michael Moore of Centerville Indiana, pulled his vehicle to the shoulder for a possible tire issue. When Moore got out of the car to check the problem he was struck by a passing vehicle. There where two other occupants in the disabled vehicle that witnessed the crash. The vehicle who struck Moore did not stop and left the scene. Moore was transported to a local hospital by ambulance and is in critical condition. 

At this time there is no vehicle description available. The striking vehicle should have damage to the front passenger side, possibly a broken headlight.

Investigating officers are unsure if snow contributed to this crash.
