Brownsburg High School celebrates student-athletes at its Spring Signing Day

Seven Brownsburg High School seniors celebrated their college decision and signed National Letters of Intent to continue their education and their athletic careers at the collegiate level.  These student-athletes gathered with family, friends and coaches at Brownsburg High School’s Spring Signing Day in May.

Kaden Adams will continue his football career and education with the Marian University Knights.  Adams earned an All-HCC Conference his sophomore and junior year and was a Region 6 All-Star in his senior season. According to BHS Varsity Head Football Coach John Hart, “Kaden was one of the strongest players in the history of the program.  He was a great leader who played at a very high level and we wish him well at Marian.”

Brownsburg’s Will Berens will continue his education and his football career as he signs to join the Depauw Tigers.  Berens played fullback for the Bulldogs and played football all four years.  BHS Varsity Head Football Coach John Hart says, “Will was an outstanding captain and leader for our program.  His attitude and personality make him a terrific leader.”

BHS soccer player Eirik Eggen will continue his athletic career and his education at Trine University.  Eggen was last year’s Mental Attitude Award recipient for the Bulldogs and was a member of the team all four years.  Brownsburg Soccer Head Coach Josh Brown says, “Eirik was the epitome of someone who leads by example.  His team-first, calm, stoic nature brought a cool confidence to our team when he was on the field.  We wish Eirik all the best as he continues his soccer career.”

The University of Indianapolis welcomes Brownsburg’s Kevin Hendricks to play soccer and continue his education with the Greyhounds.  Hendricks played forward for the Bulldogs and participated in the program all four years.   Brownsburg Soccer Head Coach Josh Brown shares, “Kevin exemplifies the definitions of hard work and being a great teammate.  He always gave his best and was the first to cheer on his teammates or lift them up when they were down.  Good luck to Kevin as he continues his playing career at UIndy.”

Bulldog running back Ja’Shawn Keys will study and continue his football career at Anderson University.  BHS Varsity Head Football Coach John Hart says, “Ja’Shawn challenged our team to be its best every day by being his best every day.  He will be a successful student-athlete for the Ravens as he continues to work hard and have a great attitude.”

Bulldog Leigh Nutall will play football and continue his education at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois.  Leigh is a talented wide receiver who played for the Bulldogs for 4 seasons. BHS Varsity Head Football Coach John Hart says, “Leigh never let his size limit him from making big plays and made some of the biggest plays at the most critical times for the Bulldogs.”

Brownsburg baseball’s Case Starkey will head south to study and play for the Grizzlies of Franklin College.  Case was the starting center fielder this spring and voted by his peers as the Team Captain for his senior season.  BHS Varsity Head Baseball Coach Dan Roman says, “Case has been a tremendous asset to Bulldog Baseball during his career.  He made the transition into my first season as Brownsburg’s Head Coach exceedingly smooth by his work ethic and tem-first attitude.  He will be greatly missed!”
