AVON, IN—(JUNE 21, 2017) ACSC Superintendent Dr. Maggie Hoernemann was pleased to honor the Avon Board of School Trustees for being recognized as a Master School Board by the Indiana School Boards Association (ISBA) for the 11th time. This program recognizes officially seated board members for their dedication to continuous improvement. In order to garner such a distinction, each Board member must accumulate 75 Certification Awards Program (CAP) points by attending conferences, seminars, retreats, or other selective activities and also must complete a board self-assessment with the ISBA Director of Board Services.
Prior to this recognition, the Board has previously been named as an Exemplary School Board nine times, an Outstanding School Board, and also received an Effective Governance Award.
“We celebrate this accomplishment to honor the dedication to their own professional development that each Board member has made,” said Dr. Hoernemann. “This accomplishment reflects Avon Community School Corporation’s district commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.”
