Attempting to Elude Trooper Results in Arrest

Oct 27, 2017–Vigo County—On Thursday at 5:20 in the evening, Indiana State Police Trooper Brad Fyfe attempted to stop a tan 2006 Hyundai on S. 4th St. in Terre Haute. Trooper Fyfe activated his emergency lights while behind the vehicle.  The vehicle then turned into a driveway and the male driver got out and ran.  Several commands were given, however the commands to cooperate were ignored.  A foot pursuit ensued and Trooper Fyfe was able to catch the subject in the alley and place him under arrest for resisting law enforcement.  Located on the subject was approximately 8.4 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 1.7 grams of suspected marijuana. Once the subject was identified it was discovered that he had four (4) active warrants through Vigo County.

 

Arrested:         Shawn M. Icenogle, age 32, of Terre Haute, IN.

Taken to Vigo County Jail

 

Charges: Possession of Methamphetamine (felony); Resisting Law Enforcement (Misdemeanor); Possession of Paraphernalia (misdemeanor); Possession of Marijuana (misdemeanor); Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Felony); Operating a vehicle after being a Habitual Traffic Violator (Felony)

 

Assisting were ISP Trooper Matt Ames and Deputy Khris Morris with the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department.

 

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
