Argument turns deadly when man is shot and killed outside a residence

IMPDINDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting on the city’s east side.

Just after 9p.m. on 09/06/2016, officers with the IMPD were dispatched to the 1100 block of N Kealing Ave on reports of shots fired. Responding officers arrived and located an unresponsive male that had been shot at least one time. EMS personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead on-scene.

Homicide detectives responded and began taking statements from witnesses. Detectives learned that two men got into an argument that ended up outside of a residence, where one man was shot and killed. The suspect then fled west from the location in a four door silver vehicle. Detectives stated that they do not believe that this incident is related to the homicide that occurred in the 1000 block of N Kealing earlier this morning.  Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist in identifying and collecting possible forensic evidence. This is an ongoing and active investigation.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317)262-TIPS(8477). Information given via Crime Stoppers should be considered anonymous.
