Apex Benefits Hires Former U.S. Congressman Todd Rokita to Lead Legal, Public Policy and External Affairs

(INDIANAPOLIS) — Apex Benefits, a benefits strategy and services provider and one of the Midwest’s fastest growing independent agencies, announces former Indiana Secretary of State and U.S. Congressman Todd Rokita has joined the organization as its General Counsel and vice president of External Affairs. In this executive role, Rokita will oversee corporate legal strategies and serve as a representative for Apex and an advocate for its customers by leading public policy initiatives throughout Indiana and the nation.

“As Apex continues rapidly evolving to meet the needs of our clients and demands of the ever-changing healthcare industry, it’s become increasingly more important to add an experienced legal and public policy perspective to our team,” said Apex President and CEO John Gause. “The timing is ideal for us to join forces and our missions couldn’t have aligned better.”

Since 2003, Apex has fought the impact of rising healthcare costs and complexities for employers while serving as an advocate for clients and their employees. Rokita actively has worked to rein in the rising costs of health care for public and private sector organizations and U.S. taxpayers since he entered public service in 2002.

“It’s been my highest honor to serve and fight for my fellow Hoosiers, whether at the Statehouse or in Congress. I’m eager to continue that effort with a nimble company and a team of true servant leaders,” said Apex General Counsel and Vice President of External Affairs Todd Rokita. “Employers should have access to easy-to-understand, cost-effective healthcare solutions that help their businesses grow and improve quality of life for their employees. I look forward to continuing that fight as part of the Apex team.”

As General Counsel, Rokita will lead all internal and external legal functions for Apex. In the best interest of the company’s clients, he also will collaborate with industry experts to drive positive transformation of healthcare and employee benefits issues.
