IMPD detectives investigating person shot to death on city’s northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) detectives are investigating after person is shot to death on the city’s northwest side.

Officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of W 18th St, at around 3:45 a.m. on 07/28/2016, on reports of a person shot. Officers arrived and located a male in a vehicle who was suffering from at least one gunshot wound. EMS personnel arrived and pronounced the male dead on-scene.

IMPD homicide detectives responded and began canvassing the area for possible witnesses. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to the scene to process for possible forensic evidence.
