IMPD detectives investigating person shot to death on city’s northwest side

IMPDINDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) detectives are investigating after person is shot to death on the city’s northwest side.

Officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of W 18th St, at around 3:45 a.m. on 07/28/2016, on reports of a person shot. Officers arrived and located a male in a vehicle who was suffering from at least one gunshot wound. EMS personnel arrived and pronounced the male dead on-scene.

IMPD homicide detectives responded and began canvassing the area for possible witnesses. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to the scene to process for possible forensic evidence. Detectives urge anyone with information regarding this incident to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317)262-TIPS(8477). Tips given via Crime Stoppers are considered anonymous.
