Behning reappointed chair of House Education Committee

STATEHOUSE (Dec. 2, 2020) – State Rep. Bob Behning (R-Indianapolis) was recently reappointed to serve as chair of the House Education Committee.

As chair of the committee over the last several years, Behning played an integral role in championing several laws supporting Hoosier students, educators and schools. He led the efforts expanding pre-K statewide, creating personalized graduation pathways for high school students and providing educators opportunities to earn more while remaining in the classroom. He said he is focused on ensuring all students continue to have access to a high-quality education.

“This session we’ll be looking at additional ways to support students, parents and educators,” Behning said. “Over the last several months, I have heard from parents and educators who are working through challenges brought on by the pandemic that need to be addressed. At the end of the day, we want to make sure kids are receiving a high-quality education no matter where they are learning.”
