INDIANAPOLIS (June 11, 2020) — IndyGo and Bosma Enterprises are proud to announce a donation of 2,000 surgical masks and fifty face shields to the Indianapolis Public Transportation Foundation.
The masks and face shields will be used by IndyGo staff, including bus operators.
“IndyGo Operators are providing an essential service to our city, and they’ve continued to put themselves on the frontline because they know riders depend on us,” said Inez Evans, President and CEO of IndyGo. “This donation from Bosma Enterprises will help us to keep our Operators and riders safe, and we’re so appreciative of their continued support.”
The Indianapolis Public Transportation Foundation received the donation and facilitated the provision of the supplies to IndyGo.
“We are so grateful for the support of the community and our partners, such as Bosma Enterprises, throughout this pandemic,” said Roscoe Brown, Executive Director of the Foundation. “Donations like this demonstrate that we truly are all in this together.”
IndyGo and Bosma Enterprises have a long-standing partnership. Many of Bosma’s employees and clients rely on IndyGo’s fixed route and paratransit services. Recently, Lise Pace, Vice President of External Affairs for Bosma Enterprises, was appointed to IndyGo’s Board of Directors.
“Transportation is one of the most significant barriers to employment for people with disabilities and those who have socio-economic challenges,” said Lise Pace, Vice President of External Affairs for Bosma Enterprises and a member of IndyGo’s Board of Directors. “Many of my colleagues and the clients we assist rely on the service. Bosma Enterprises recognized an opportunity to provide support to a longtime partner and help to ensure viable public transportation in Indianapolis.” IndyGo has resumed regular service schedules, but extensive cleaning and safety measures remain in place.
