Gov. Holcomb Announces Judicial Appointment for Huntington County Circuit Court Vacancy

Dec 28, 2017–INDIANAPOLIS – Gov. Eric J. Holcomb today announced Jamie M. Groves as his appointment to the Huntington County Circuit Court. Mr. Groves will succeed Judge Thomas M. Hakes who is retiring December 31, 2017.

Jamie Groves currently serves as the chief deputy prosecutor in Huntington County. Mr. Groves has been with the Huntington County Prosecutor’s Office for the past 20 years and has served as its chief deputy for the past 10 years.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Groves worked as a juvenile court probation officer and juvenile detention officer in Porter County. Mr. Groves received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and his law degree from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis.

Mr. Groves will be sworn in as the Huntington County Circuit Court Judge on a date to be determined.
