Woman Injured in Jet Ski Accident on Geist Reservoir

Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a single boat accident that occurred Saturday evening on Geist Reservoir in Hamilton County.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., First Responders were dispatched to the marina at Geist Reservoir for a woman that was injured in an accident involving a personal water craft (PWC).

Once on scene, officers discovered that Minahil Khan, 26, of Islamabad, Pakistan was operating a Kawasaki Jet Ski with a juvenile passenger when she struck a large wave.  This impact caused both Khan and the passenger to be thrown from the PWC.  Khan suffered a broken right leg as a result of the accident.

The juvenile passenger was calm enough to flag down a passing boat that transported both to the Geist Marina.  Khan was then transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis in good condition.

The accident is being investigated by Officer Jon Fennig, who discovered that Khan had limited operating experience and that this likely played a role in the incident.  Both Khan and the juvenile passenger were wearing life jackets.

Indiana Conservation Officers were assisted on scene by Fishers Fire Department and Fishers Police Department.
