Visit Hendricks County Releases Improved Restaurant Guide, Other Resources for Community

DANVILLE, IN (May 28, 2020) –What began with fulfilling an unmet community need in a time of crisis continues to evolve as Visit Hendricks County (VHC) has become the go-to resource for the Hendricks County community.

Honing in on the wants and needs of the community, VHC has created a new, more user-friendly Hendricks County Restaurant Guide, helped raise thousands of dollars for local COVID-19 relief and continues to provide recommendations on things to do, support for small businesses and other critical resources.

“Through this time, we have seen our community come together in unprecedented ways,” said Jaime Bohler Smith, VHC Executive Director. “We want to support our small businesses and local favorites by encouraging responsible shopping and dining, while keeping our residents apprised with the most updated and accurate information on things to do.”

A decision to focus on the ‘good stuff’ back in March led VHC to adjust its services and launch All In, Hendricks County. That investment led to a community section within its website focusing on resources such as distance dining with local restaurants, virtual things to do, how to stay active, a place to find local jobs, feel-good stories and links to many other community resources.

In the two months that followed, the organization expanded those services by partnering with the Hendricks County Community Foundation and Rose Promotions to raise over $3,000 by creating and selling All In, Hendricks County T-Shirts and now has begun shifting its campaign into Phase II. That newest phase includes updating the website with more information on what is open including the new Restaurant Guide and where you can go to gather appropriately and safely. The staff also continues to make sense of this ever-evolving situation providing the information the community wants and needs to make informed decisions.

But there is still more to come with some big announcements happening soon as the organization move into future phases.
