Construction begins in early June to install four new traffic Signals in Hendricks and Tippecanoe Counties

HENDRICKS AND TIPPECANOE COUNTIES, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces construction will begin on or after Monday, June 8 to install four new traffic signals within our district.  The four locations include State Road 26 and Tippecanoe C.R. 900 E., U.S. 231 and Tippecanoe C.R. 800 S., U.S. 231 and State Road 28 in Romney and on U.S. 136 and State Road 39 in Lizton.

Midwestern Electric, Inc. was awarded the $558,151 contract. The contractor’s current schedule shows the traffic signal installations below, weather permitting:

         State Road 26 and C.R. 900 E.:  June 8-July 23

         U.S. 231 and C.R. 800 S.:  June 18-July 23

         U.S. 231 and State Road 28:  July 20-August 20

         U.S. 136 and State Road 39:  August 17-September 17
