Visit Hendricks County Launches New Program to Focus on Residents, ‘Good Stuff’ During Pandemic

DANVILLE, IN (March 20, 2020) –Today, Visit Hendricks County launched a new section of its website providing its residents a new resource during these uncertain times focusing on the ‘good stuff’ in our community.

We’re living through an unprecedented time in history. And while there’s important news being shared elsewhere, we at Visit Hendricks County have adjusted our services to become the go-to resource for a different kind of news.

“We’re All In, Hendricks County,” said Jaime Bohler Smith, Executive Director of Visit Hendricks County. “Over the last 72 hours our staff has worked with many community partners to provide residents with great ideas on what to do during these next few weeks of social distancing.”

The website will have sections on distance dining with our local restaurants, virtual things to do, how to stay active, feel-good stories and links to community resources. Partners in this effort include the Hendricks Regional Health YMCA, Brightly Art Studio in Brownsburg, the Central Indiana Enchanted Fairy Trail, the Hendricks County Business Leader and Hendricks County ICON along with travel bloggers, Katy Mann from Indy with Kids and Stephanie Taleghani with Consistently Curious.

“These partners are just the beginning,” Smith said. “This resource is open for community additions. On the site, you will find forms for additional business changes and suggestions for at-home activities featuring Hendricks County businesses and events, or even submitting ideas for things Visit Hendricks County can create for our towns and residents.

“We want this to be collaborative,” Smith added. “Lots of good will happen during this very difficult time. Our goal is to be bright spot in your day, give you something to look forward to and connect you virtually to our businesses and people beyond what is happening with our social services.”
