INDIANAPOLIS (June 11, 2020) – Kainos, a global digital services and platforms company, announced plans today to launch its first Midwest office in Indianapolis, creating up to 133 new, high-wage jobs by the end of 2024.
“Because of Indiana’s business-friendly environment, low cost of living and high quality of life, global tech companies like Kainos are setting up shop here,” said Indiana Secretary of Commerce Jim Schellinger. “Kainos will be a great addition to the Indianapolis tech ecosystem, bringing more than one hundred high-wage jobs and a global presence to our state.”
Headquartered in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Kainos is investing more than $800,000 to lease and equip office space at 55 Monument Circle in Indianapolis. The company, which opened its new office in October 2019, plans to grow and enhance its dedicated Workday Practice, which assists enterprise companies to digitally transform and drive business planning by leveraging Workday’s leading suite of applications in finance, HR and business planning. As one of Workday’s leading partners, Kainos will recruit and develop local talent to work across its services and products portfolio, including supporting the growth of Kainos Smart, its automated testing platform designed exclusively for Workday.
“Kainos is growing at a significant rate in North America, and we are excited to establish Indianapolis as one of our major hubs to support our expansion efforts,” said Mike Hitch, VP of testing services for North America, Kainos. “As a global technology company, we chose Indianapolis due to the city’s access to talent with its abundance of local colleges and universities; in addition, it maintains some of best cost of living opportunities within the U.S. Furthermore, there is a unique synergy of cultures between our headquarters in Belfast, Northern Ireland and our hub in Indianapolis which has made it seamless to embrace our company culture. To top things off, many of our key clients and partners are located right here in the Circle City. We look forward to continued growth and success here in Indy and appreciate our partnership with the state of Indiana, city of Indianapolis and IEDC to support our efforts.”
Kainos, which currently employs more than 1,700 people across 15 offices in the U.S., Canada and Europe, recently announced its tenth consecutive year of growth in revenue and headcount. The company has already added 10 associates in Indianapolis and is hiring for individuals with experience in data, product, design and engineering. Interested applicants may apply online.
“We are excited for Kainos to grow its presence as part of our city’s robust tech ecosystem,” said Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett. “Their ability to lead large-scale digital transformations not only supports global companies, but our local employers as well. Congratulations to Kainos on its remarkable success.”
Established in 1986 and working across commercial, health care and the public sector, Kainos uses technology to solve real problems for more than 450 customers and make people’s lives easier. Its Workday Practice helps businesses deploy, optimize, test and safeguard Workday; and its Digital Services team works collaboratively with customers to drive transformation from the ground up, delivering intelligent and innovative solutions that are secure, accessible and cost-effective.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Kainos up to $3.3 million in conditional tax credits based on the company’s job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning the company is eligible to claim incentives once Hoosiers are hired. The city of Indianapolis will consider additional incentives at the request of Develop Indy.
