Two Vehicle Crash in Carroll County Sends Two to the Hospital

ISPCarroll County-At approximately 9:01 a.m. today, Trooper Brock Russell was traveling northbound on US 421 near County Road 950 north when he came upon a two vehicle crash that had occurred at the intersection.

Trooper Russell’s investigation has revealed that a red 1994 GMC Sierra driven by Donald E. Patterson, 86 of Monticello was eastbound on CR 950 N when he pulled into the path of a blue Chrysler Town & Country minivan driven by Christine J. Buschman, 43 also of Monticello. Patterson, who was ejected from the vehicle, was transported to IU Health White Memorial Hospital with life threatening injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Buschman was not injured but her mother, Carol S. O’Neil, 73 of Monticello, was also taken to the same hospital with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries. All were wearing seatbelts in the minivan.

Assisting at the scene was the Monticello Fire and Rescue, Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, Delphi Police Department and Indiana Department of Natural Resources. No citations have been issued at this time. Crash is still under investigation. I have no pictures.

Suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
