Indianapolis, IN – Trooper Christopher Waltz of the Indianapolis District has been recognized for his outstanding efforts by receiving the 2017 Trooper of the District Award.
In a ceremony conducted by Superintendent Doug Carter last week, Waltz was presented with a certificate reading: “Presented to the Trooper who has achieved outstanding enforcement efforts in the areas of traffic and criminal enforcement, case and crash investigations, public information programs and community service; and who has exemplified the professionalism and integrity expected of an Indiana State Trooper”
Indianapolis District Commander Lt. Jeff Payne said. “Chris demonstrates incredible work ethic and leadership. He is respected by his peers and is determined to increase public safety through his patrol efforts. We are lucky to have great troopers at our district and even more importantly they are great people”

- 138 people arrested (incarcerated)
- 456 Criminal Charges Filed (including summons to appear in court on misdemeanors)
- 91 Felony Charges Filed
- 20 DUI arrests
- 18 Stolen vehicles recovered
- 233 Crashes investigated
- 875 Citations issued
- 667 Warnings written
- 298 Police Services (change flat tire, assist disabled vehicle, transport etc.)
