Traffic Stop Yields Suspected Crystal Meth

Putnam County—Yesterday morning at 11:32, Indiana State Police Trooper Yan Dravigne stopped a white 2014 Hyundai Accent with Oregon registration for following too close on eastbound Interstate 70 near the 36 mile marker.

During conversations with the occupants, Trooper Dravigne developed suspicion of possible criminal activity and requested assistance from Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputy Dwight Simmons and K-9 “Bo”. After arriving on scene, “Bo” immediately indicated on the vehicle and officers located approximately two pounds of crystal methamphetamine in two locations inside the vehicle.

 

Arrested Driver:             Szophia L. Kress, age 22, of Heidelberg, PA.

Charges:                           Conspiracy to Deal Methamphetamine

Possession of Methamphetamine over 28 grams

 

Arrested Passenger:     Haley A. LeBlanc, age 23, Pittsburgh, PA.

Charges:                         Conspiracy to Deal Methamphetamine

Possession of Methamphetamine over 28 grams

 

The pair was incarcerated in the Putnam County Jail. The street value of the methamphetamine is approximately $30,000 and the duo is believed to have been traveling from Las Vegas, Nevada to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
