Speed limit to decrease on U.S. 40 near Plainfield

HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. — The Indiana Department of Transportation is scheduled to decrease the speed limit on U.S. 40 from just east of Ventura Blvd., to just west of Vandalia Blvd/Mecklenburg Dr. in Plainfield. The change is set to go in effect beginning on or after Wednesday, Nov. 6.

The speed limit will decrease from 55 mph to 45 mph and will impact both directions of traffic. The decreased speed limit is intended to help enhance safety in the area.
