Semi Rolls on its Side Blocks Southbound I-65 in Clinton County

Clinton County-Today at approximately 1:30 p.m. on I-65 southbound near the 151.5 mile marker, the Indiana State Police Lafayette Post were advised of a semi rollover blocking both lanes with the drive ejected from the truck.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Peter Stephan has revealed that a white 2018 Freightliner owned by T-Line Express out of Orland Park, IL and driven by Mirlan Tynybekov, 30 of El Cerrito, CA was SB when for an unknown reason, rolled the semi and trailer that was loaded with scrap aluminum for Novelis Corporation out of Berea, KY.  The driver was ejected from the truck and suffered a possible broken left arm, scraps, head injury and possible internal injuries.  Tynybekov was airlifted by Life-Line Helicopter to Methodist Hospital in serious condition.  No load was lost in the crash.  It appears that seat belts were not being utilized at the time of the crash.  The investigation is continuing.

Assisting at the scene were troopers from the ISP Lafayette Post, ISP Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division, Life-Line Helicopter, INDOT, Frankfort Fire and EMS, Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Department and Zore’s Wrecker Service out of Lebanon, IN.

 All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
