Secretary of State Connie Lawson launches new Securities Portal

INDIANAPOLIS (December 10, 2018) – Today, Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson announced the launch of the new Securities Portal.  The new portal provides one convenient location for investors and industry professionals to connect with the Secretary of State’s Securities Division.

Hoosier residents will be able to file a complaint, request public records and search the registration database all without creating an account.  Fraud victims requesting restitution can now apply online.

“My office is always looking for ways to make our processes more streamlined and user friendly,” said Secretary Lawson.  “The new portal was designed to be as simplified and efficient as possible.”

Industry professionals will find the portal helpful because it has eliminated the need to mail or deliver many registration documents to the office. State reviewed securities registrations, senior financial exploitation reports and franchise filings are just a few of the many documents that can now be filed online.

Many of these filings are complex and can take time. The online system will allow users to save work and return to it at a later time.  The user will also be able to utilize past filings completed on the portal to begin the annual filing process.  This will make the annual filing process more efficient by linking the securities registrations to an account.  All previous registrations and payment history will be accessible in the new dashboard.

Once registration and compliance documents are submitted, payment for the filing can now be made online. Previously, a paper check was required for processing.

“The new portal not only makes interaction with the Secretary of State’s office more industry and investor friendly, but helps make our staff more efficient with an ever increasing paperless environment,” said Securities Commissioner Alex Glass.  “I am very pleased with the final product and look forward to getting everyone on board over the coming months.”
