Rokita: The Era of Leaving Our Border Open Is Over

DANVILLE, IN — Congressman Todd Rokita made the following statement after President Trump signed an executive order sending National Guard troops to protect our southern border due to illegal immigrants flooding across our border, and Congress’s failure to fund the wall:

“From day one, I have been a firm supporter of President Trump’s commitment to put America first, stop the flow of illegal immigration, and put a halt to the drugs that are destroying our communities,” said Congressman Todd Rokita. “The era of leaving our border open, and our brave border patrol agents without backup, is over. I firmly back President Trump, who refuses to stand idly by as thousands from Central America march toward our border. It is time we take protecting our southern border seriously, and until a wall is built, we must use all actions necessary to protect our country’s borders and maintain our sovereignty.”

Congressman Rokita has championed the fight against the flood of illegal immigration coming across our borders. His recent legislation, the SLAP Act, targets cities and government officials who harbor illegal aliens under the vice of sanctuary city facades. Congressman Rokita has been a staunch supporter of President Trump’s calls to build a wall on our southern border.
