Residents warned about Texas marketing firm solicitations

Residents of Avon and Danville have received calls recently from a Texas marketing firm called New Start Marketing to solicit business and support for local schools. New Start Marketing solicits local businesses to support their local schools through advertising and purchasing of a school sports schedule calendar. However, Tom Downard of the Avon Chamber of Commerce recently sent out an e-mail stating that the Avon Community School Corporation had not hired New Start Marketing for any such program.

Businesses in Danville have also complained recently about New Start Marketing’s aggressive campaign trying to solicit business purportedly to support the Danville Community School Corporation.

Businesses and residents are advised to check with their local school or chamber of commerce if there any questions as to the legitimacy of a program.
