Plainfield Police Investigates Credit Card Fraud Case

On August 10, 2016, Plainfield Officers took an initial report in regards to a credit card fraud.  The same day, Wal-Mart Loss Prevention identified the suspect, Yuri Garcia, 37 of Miami, FL, making more purchases with different fraudulent credit cards.

Officers detained Garcia and upon further investigation located his vehicle and another suspect, Jesus Hernandez, 45, of Miami, FL.  Hernandez was detained also and the vehicle was impounded for a search warrant.  Upon the execution of the search warrant, twenty-three fraudulent credit cards were located.  These credit cards were part of a skimming operation.

Garcia and Hernandez were each initially charged with Corrupt Business Influence, three counts of Credit Card Fraud, and four counts of Forgery.
