Pennsylvania Man Arrested for Transporting Drugs

Putnam County—On Tuesday afternoon, April 03 at approximately 12:35, an Indiana State Police Trooper, assigned to the Drug Enforcement Section, stopped a vehicle for a following too close violation on eastbound Interstate 70 near the 30 mile marker.

During the traffic stop, indicators of possible criminal activity were detected and a subsequent vehicle search yielded over one pound of high grade marijuana, one ounce of marijuana wax, and one ounce of marijuana extract all packaged for sale, along with marijuana edibles. Street value estimated at $12,000.

Donald R. Mattonen, age 45, of Pitcairn, Pennsylvania was arrested and incarcerated in the Putnam County Jail on charges of Dealing Marijuana.

Mattonen was reportedly enroute from California to Pennsylvania and was accompanied by his 15-year-old daughter, who was not involved in the illegal activity, and released to the Indiana Department of Child Services of Putnam County.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
