HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces I-70 eastbound at Exit 59 for State Road 39 will be closed beginning Tuesday, February 11 at 11:59 p.m. until Wednesday, February 12 at 5 a.m. for the contractor to set beams. Traffic will be detoured up the ramp across S.R. 39 and back onto the interstate utilizing the ramps. On Wednesday, February 12 at 11:59 p.m. I-70 westbound lanes will be closed until Thursday, February 13 at 5 a.m. for beams to be set on the new bridge.
Prior to the full closure the left lane will be closed at 9 p.m. each night to facilitate equipment and trucks for this operation.
Milestone Contractors LP was awarded the $16.2 million contract. This project will redesign this interchange to a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI). The interchange modification project is being built to add traffic capacity and relieve congestion for the current and future needs as development expands in this area. This interchange is scheduled to open to traffic in the fall of 2021.
