Nearly Four Pounds of Suspected Marijuana Found during Traffic Stop

Putnam County—This morning at 9:58, an Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Trooper stopped a 2004 Audi passenger car on eastbound Interstate 70 near the 41 mile marker for following too closely.

During a conversation with the occupants, circumstances arose that led to a probable cause search of the vehicle. In the trunk, officers located approximately four pounds of suspected Marijuana. The occupants were taken into custody and transported to the Putnam County Jail with each initially charged with one count of Dealing Marijuana (level 6 felony). The duo was reportedly traveling from Terre Haute, IN. to Middletown, Ohio. The estimated street value of the suspected Marijuana is 12 to 16,000 dollars.

                        Keenan Hutchinson, age 19, Middletown, Ohio        (White shirt)

Assisting agency was the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
