INDIANAPOLIS (July 25, 2019) – IndyGo is seeking transit riders, supporters, and community members to volunteer to help launch the Red Line in its opening week, September 1 through September 7.
Volunteers will be located at stations throughout the Red Line to educate and assist riders as they use Indianapolis’ new bus rapid transit system.
IndyGo will provide volunteers with training and supporting materials to help them effectively assist riders, as well as a t-shirt.
Those interested in helping IndyGo launch the Red Line can fill out a survey to indicate interest and availability. All will receive a follow-up email from IndyGo with information on training and shifts available. View more information about this volunteer opportunity on IndyGo’s website.
IndyGo wants everyone to feel confident in riding this new addition to the city. The Red Line will connect passangers between Broad Ripple and the University of Indianapolis, operating from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. with 10-minute frequency during peak service hours.
Through modernized mass transit like the Red Line, Indianapolis can better connect workers and employers, attract new talent, promote neighborhood redevelopment, positively impact racial equity and social mobility, and compete for new business and investment.
