Indiana Republican Party selects new Spokesman

INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 5, 2015) –The Indiana Republican Party on Monday announced the selection of Robert Vane as Spokesman and Media Consultant. This appointment marks an expanded role from Mike Pence for Indiana spokesman to overseeing message coordination for Republican candidates in Indiana through the November 2016 election.

Vane will also serve as the primary media point of contact and direct rapid response efforts on behalf of the Republican candidates throughout the state.

A native of Irvington, Vane was a graduate of Howe High School. After serving three years in the U.S. Army, Vane earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from IUPUI. Among his numerous positions, he served as Communications Director for the Indiana Republican Party, Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director for Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard, and Communications Director for the Mike Pence for Indiana Campaign.

Governor Mike Pence remarked, “Robert is a trusted and valuable advisor to our effort.  I look forward to continuing our work together as he expands his role throughout the coming months.”

“We are excited for Robert’s added role as the Indiana Republican Party Spokesman,” said Indiana GOP Chairman Jeff Cardwell. “He will be a valuable ally to promote the GOP brand and defend Governor Pence, our Senate nominee, and our entire slate of candidates from misleading Democratic attacks. Robert and his ability to correct the record and promote Governor Pence and the Republican team’s pro-growth agenda will be a welcome addition to the team.”
