Indiana Democratic Party Hails Senate Democrats’ Call for Across the Board Protections for LGBT Hoosiers

INDIANAPOLIS – John Zody, chairman of the Indiana Democratic Party, released the following statement hailing the Senate Democrats’ priority to bring across-the-board protections for LGBT Hoosiers for the next legislative session.

“After what was truly a damaging time for Indiana – where the state saw a $250 million economic panic and its “Hoosier Hospitality” reputation put in jeopardy – the decision by Senate Democrats to put forward across-the-board protections for LGBT Hoosiers once again shows that Democrats will always work to solve today’s problems for our state. I’m proud Democrats are showing leadership on this issue when Governor Pence and Statehouse Republicans have time and again put their ideology ahead of what is right for Hoosiers. It’s my hope Republicans join this effort to make our state welcome everyone. Anything short of that will be a failure to the future of Indiana.”
