Indiana Department of Education Launches New Teacher Recruitment and Retention Campaign

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) announced today the launch of a teacher recruitment and retention campaign. Two new websites, EducateIN.org and Indiana.Teachers-Teachers.com, will provide those looking for a career in the classroom the opportunity to connect with available openings in education. The online platforms allow the Department to promote positive educational resources and interactions.

“We know great educational outcomes start with a positive classroom experiences,” said Dr. Jennifer McCormick, Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction. “Working to attract and retain excellent teachers for Indiana schools is a commitment of the Department. I believe these resources will advance our initiative and I am excited to make them available.”

In accordance with its commitment to attract talented teachers and keep educators in the profession, IDOE developed the EducateIN.org website. EducateIN.org provides a resource hub for prospective teachers (high school students, university undergraduates, career transfers) to explore the benefits of becoming a professional educator and access information about various licensure pathways. Through EducateIN.org, IDOE will work to attract, develop, support, and retain talented educators, while reframing the public narrative and increasing the positive perception of educators and the teaching experience in Indiana.

In an effort to support schools with educator recruitment efforts, IDOE is providing free access to Indiana. Teachers-Teachers.com. This Indiana-focused online platform enables schools to proactively and strategically recruit and review candidates for open positions. Employers are able to post open positions for teachers, administrators, and other school-related personnel. In addition, job seekers are able to quickly and easily apply with an established profile. Furthermore, teacher candidates are able to develop a professional profile, view and filter active job postings, and apply for multiple positions through the Indiana.Teachers-Teachers.com site. IDOE will also utilize feedback and reports created from participating candidates and employers, to develop specific resources and training related to best practices.
